Why paper
A screen shows you a page. Paper is the page. There is no backlight deciding how it reads at 11 p.m., no battery meter, no notification leaning over your shoulder. You open a notebook and the contract is simple: it will not interrupt you.
We print on 90 gsm uncoated stock from a mill that has been making it since 1919. The fibres hold fountain-pen ink without feathering, pencil without shine, and the indent of a stubborn typewriter carbon without complaint.
The e-reader you are holding is the best argument we have. It took the whole industry twenty years to make a screen that looks like paper — and people who use them say the same thing: I forgot it was a screen. We would like to sell you the original.

Yes, reluctantly. Postage doubles past the EU and takes two to four weeks. Write to us first and we will weigh your actual order and quote honestly.
Because we would rather read a letter than run a checkout. Every order starts as mail, gets answered by a person, and is packed by the same person two days later. It is slower and we like it that way.
Most Saturdays, by appointment. You will see the Heidelberg, the paper rack, and a kettle. Bring nothing; leave with a misprint.
An electrophoretic refresh. Real e-ink panels invert every particle for a hundred and fifty milliseconds when they redraw a full page. We kept the gesture, at a polite volume, and switched it off entirely for anyone who prefers stillness.
